RBRL is Recruiting – Wednesday Night Oval League

Rust Bucket Racing League is looking to add a few more drivers as we get ready for our next stretch of racing.

RBRL is a casual, oval-focused iRacing league built around clean but competitive racing. We are not trying to be the next big esports operation, and we are not looking for drivers who treat every Wednesday night like it is the final lap at Homestead with a contract on the line. We want good racing, good people, and a field that can race hard without turning the place into a junkyard every week.

What we are building

Right now we usually have around 10–15 active drivers, and we are looking to grow that into fields of around 20–25 cars max. Big enough to feel like a real race, but not so big that it turns into chaos for chaos’ sake.

We race on Wednesday nights, but we also know real life happens. A lot of us have jobs, families, schedules, and weeks where racing just is not going to happen. Because of that, our seasons are usually built with dropped weeks. For example, in a 12-week season, only your best 9 races may count toward the championship. You do not have to be perfect-attendance guy to have a reason to show up and compete.

Recruiting stretch

Over the next couple months, we are starting a recruiting stretch that will run about 8 weeks. During that time we will be mixing in some fun races with things like jumpy trucks, mini-stocks, street stocks, and ARCA before moving into a planned 12-week O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season.

League format

  • Oval-focused racing
  • Fixed setups
  • 1 fast repair
  • Limited fuel and tires
  • Custom stage breaks
  • Custom scoring system
  • Dropped weeks during the season
  • Clean, competitive racing without the try-hard attitude

Minimum requirements

  • Oval C license or higher
  • 3500 iRating max
  • Looking for casual-to-intermediate drivers
  • Must be generally available Wednesday nights
Culture fit matters

Who fits here

We are looking for drivers who fit the culture first. Speed is great, but attitude matters more. If you can race people with respect, take a joke, own a mistake, and not lose your mind when things do not go your way, you will probably fit in fine.

If you are looking for a laid-back league with solid racing, a little personality, and a group that wants to build something fun without taking itself too seriously, come check out Rust Bucket Racing League.
